Celebrating our 40th!

As TWR moves into our 40th year in business we would like to celebrate the people and important milestones that made it all happen, here are just a few fun pics from the past!

Jack Newton, VP Field Operations

In the 40 years that TWR has been framing in Southern California we have been proud to have so many loyal and committed employees that have contributed to the overall success of the organization. One person in particular is our current VP of Field Operations, Jack Newton. In 1985, Jack started working as a Foreman for TWR. He came to TWR with extensive knowledge and years of experience as a carpenter. After a decade of running work as a Foreman, he was selected to oversee all field operations and supervise the Foreman and their workforce. At that time there were about eighteen foremen. He successfully grew the field leadership team and as the company grew, he was able to promote others from within the organization to become Area Managers and in 2005 he oversaw eight area managers who supervised 108 foreman and over 6,000 six thousand carpenters.

“I can’t overstate how important Jack’s contribution to TWRs’ growth and overall success has been. Running the field is the most difficult job in a framing company. His ability to consistently complete our projects to our client’s satisfaction has given the project management team the confidence to add volume.” – Tom Rhodes, Owner of TWR.

TWR would not be what it is today had it not been for his leadership and dedication. Thank you, Jack, for your years of commitment and loyalty to TWR.

Shane Sanchez, Foreman

Shane Sanchez worked as a field employee for TWR before becoming a Foreman 25 years ago.  He is one of our most experienced foreman and has even helped to train new foreman up through the company.

Yomaira Mendez, Office Administration

Yomaira began working for TWR as a receptionist 10 years ago. An opportunity arose in our operations department where she became an administrative assistant from there, she took on additional duties within the accounting department. While continuing to expand her skillset in other areas at TWR Yomaira was also taking on the job of managing equipment and supplies for the office. We recognized that she is capable of filling a variety of roles within the organization, currently her title is Office Manager but that is not all. In January of 2025, she transferred from operations/accounting into the Payroll/Human Resources department where she continues to learn new things and is a valuable member of our TWR Office Team!

Bret Richardson, Forman

Bret has worked for TWR for 25 years and during his time with the company eventually became a foreman 10 years ago. Bret is focused and detail oriented and has used these skills to become a successful foreman, overseeing several projects from start to finish for TWR. Congrats Bret!

TAYLOR MORRISON HOMES

Taylor Morrison is one of the largest home building companies in the United States. The company formed when Taylor Woodrow and Morrison Homes joined forces in July 2007. TWR’s partnership with William Lyon Homes is what led us to begin working with Taylor Morrison. We were working on some legacy projects for WLH when they were acquired by Taylor Morrison in 2020. Since then we have signed up five new projects with Taylor Morrison directly. Those jobs were: Verbena, Aspen Court, Lyric, Serrano & Viola – we have been in partnership with Taylor Morrison Homes ever since. George Dawald is TWR’s VP of Project management, he works directly with Taylor Morrison. When asked about TWR’s relationship with Taylor Morrison, he says, “We really appreciate the work that Taylor Morrison brings our way, we are grateful for each and every project – we really seem to work well together.” Notably, Dawald says, “I really enjoy working with Mike and Diana in purchasing, they are good people and easy to talk to”. We look forward to working with Taylor Morrison in the future and sharing our united vision of a Commitment to Excellence and a Will to Succeed!

TWR FRAMING CELEBRATES 40 YEARS IN BUSINESS

With the start of the new year upon us, TWR Framing is looking forward to celebrating our 40th anniversary. Throughout the upcoming year we will begin highlighting several of the company’s major milestones that have made TWR what they are today. In addition we will celebrate the people, places and things that have helped TWR achieve all of their benchmarks of success. We look forward to this upcoming year and sharing several pieces of TWR’s history.

Project Highlight – Shawood at Sommers Bend

We are pleased to bring you an extra special project highlight this month. TWR Framing has teamed up with Woodside Homes to produce this unique project: Sherwood at Sommers Bend in Temecula. This product utilizes several building techniques that are outside the traditional wood-framed home-building process. The design of these homes employs a particular type of post and beam construction, with the addition of stainless steel pin insertion at main joints. This job sets the tone for the future of homebuilding with the inclusion of new technologies, sustainable design, and increased safety for homeowners in Southern California.
